Parvati.org is dedicated to a healthy world. Our first order of business is the swift realization of MAPS: the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary. Our long-term vision is GPS, the Global Peace Sanctuary, to address hunger and poverty internationally.

Why 2020?

We can stop the sixth mass extinction if we protect approximately 50% of the 846 ecoregions that provide habitat for all of Earth's biodiversity. That means finding leaders and organizations around the world willing to align exisiting efforts around protecting and interconnecting nature in the region.

Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary
Take Action
  1. This treaty declares the entire Arctic Ocean north of the Arctic Circle an international peace park, free from exploitation of all kinds, in perpetuity
  2. It stops all activity in the Arctic Ocean that harms the melting polar ice, and ensures the regeneration of this essential ecosystem.
  3. By taking Arctic oil off the table, it compels a global shift to renewables.

MAPS alone will almost double the current amount of marine protected areas in the world. And it places that conservation where it is most urgently needed for the sake of life on Earth.

In addition, MAPS compels the leadership of the entire world to place our collective long-term good ahead of short-term individual gain. It sets a strong precedent for other large-scale conservation initiatives in the coming years so that the goal of 50% protection can be reached by 2050.
